Setup Procedures for Windows 98/ME/2000

Go to your Start button on your windows toolbar (usually found at the bottom of your screen).  Then choose Settings, then Control Panel. Click on the Internet Options icon. Go to the Connections tab and click the Setup button to run the Internet Connection Wizard.

If prompted, enter your Area Code. Click the Next button. On the next screen, click OK.

Choose I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN).  Then choose the Next button.

Choose I connect through a phone line and modem and click Next .

Delete the area code from the area code field. Enter appropriate ten digit dial up number in the telephone number field. Uncheck Use area code and dialing rules option.


Commerce:

TAMU-Commerce Dorms:

9,903-886-8092


Click Next.

Step 2 of 3 Internet Account Logon Information

Type your username and password in the appropriate fields and click Next.

Step 3 of 3 Configuring Your computer

Name your connection A&M Commerce.  Click Next.

Setup Your Internet Mail Account

Choose No and click Next.

Completing the Internet Connection Wizard

Click on Finish.

Congratulations, you are all done!  To connect to the Internet, just double-click on the big blue “E” on your desktop and choose Connect.
