Welcome to the Department of Accounting, Economics & Finance! The department plays several key roles:

  • The mission of the department is to recruit top students to major in Accounting, Economics and Finance and then prepare them for continuing graduate education or entering the world of work.

  • Students majoring in the department have numerous opportunities for networking and advising by their participation in the Accounting, Economics & Finance Club and Beta Alpha Psi.

  • The department offers a number of professional certification programs including the CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CPF/ CPAF (Certified Professional Forecaster and Certified Advanced Professional Forecaster) and CFP (Certified Financial Planner). Selected classes are tailored to prepare students for portions of these certification tests.

  • Departmental faculty are actively engaged in research and publish regularly in scholarly journals. Areas of faculty expertise include economic impact modeling, forensic economics, tax law changes, earnings disclosures, competitive strategy, investment strategy, financial markets, applied econometrics and mutual fund investing.
