Mathematics Clubs
The Department hosts several math clubs, which philosophically are devoted to promoting mathematics to the campus community and beyond. They are involved in numerous activities; a typical year would include guest lectures from individuals in the workforce and from mathematics and other faculty; attending off-campus conferences, workshops, and meetings associated with mathematics; hosting picnics; fundraising for scholarships; tutoring; and more. The clubs often field an intramural team (softball, basketball, ??), and occasionally organize trips to the ball park in Arlington.
The four clubs are:
Alpha Gamma Alpha
Pi Mu Epsilon (Honorary)
Council of Teachers of Mathematics (CTM)
The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) Student Chapter
