Through the
generous contributions of Dr.
Jai Nagarkatti and his wife
Susan, we are proud to announce
the Jai and Susan Nagarkatti
Chemistry Fellowships. Dr.
Nagarkatti received his doctoral
degree in chemistry at Texas A&M
University-Commerce and is now
the CEO of Sigma-Aldrich
Chemical Company.
These fellowships
are expected to help us recruit and
retain top-quality full-time
graduate students in chemistry and
talented seniors, juniors or
transfer students who are committed
to continue their MS education in
the Chemistry Department. Each
fellow will receive $2,000 per year
for up to two years, provided he or
she remains enrolled full-time and
makes satisfactory progress towards
a bachelor’s or master's degree in
Chemistry. This fellowship is in
addition to any stipend that the
student may receive as a graduate
assistant (teaching, non-teaching,
or research).
Candidates must
be nominated by a Texas A&M
University-Commerce Chemistry
faculty member. Nominations
must demonstrate that this
fellowship package is a major
incentive for the nominee to
pursue and complete an
A&M-Commerce bachelor’s or
master's chemistry degree.
Nominations are considered on a
continuous basis throughout the
calendar year.
