Michael Miller


Michael Miller

Michael Miller earned a BFA from Texas State University, San Marcos and an MFA from the University of California, Davis and is an alum of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Skowhegan, Maine. From 1986 through 1988 he was a Core Fellow Artist in Residence at the Glassell School of Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

His work has been exhibited widely including the "42nd Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary American Painting," Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. and "Michael Miller's All Things Good," The Glassell School of Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Other solo exhibitions include, “The All New LeSabre,” “Michael Miller’s All Things Glib,” and most recently "Michael Miller: Ranch Style," at Barry Whistler Gallery, Dallas, Texas.

Miller's work is included in many prominent public and private collections including The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The Dallas Museum of Art, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, A.H. Belo Corporation, GTE, Neiman Marcus, American Airlines, The Prudential, The University of North Texas, and The University of California, Davis.

He has taught at Texas A&M University-Commerce since 1992 where he is currently an associate professor and Director of Graduate Studies, Studio for the Department of Art.

Courses taught include, Painting II, Seminar in Contemporary Issues, Figure Drawing, Drawing I, Drawing II, 2-Dimensional Design.
