Dismounting

Never dismount a horse in a barn or near fences, trees, or overhanging projections. During the dismounting process the horse should stand quietly, and the rider must maintain control of the horse at all times.

A: The rider should remove the right foot from the right sturriup

B: The rider should shift his weight on the left foot and swing the right leg over the horse

C: The rider's right leg should clear both the saddle and the back end of the horse

D: The rider should place his right foot on the ground
