The Texas A&M University-Commerce Foundation was founded in 1970 to support the university, its students, faculty, staff and former students. Gifts given to the Foundation are managed in cooperation with the Texas A&M University System to achieve a stable return on investment.
This active Board of loyal and dedicated members/alums gives of their time, financial and other resources to ensure that the university supports its students in a way that exceeds their highest expectations.
All who have succeeded and prospered because of this university…all who can say that this university changed their lives in a transforming way…are challenged to share their gifts in a way that help make a difference. We are grateful to each and every one.

Texas A&M University-Commerce began as East Texas Normal College in 1889 when founder William Leonidas Mayo opened the doors to a one-building campus in Cooper. His creed, which continues today, was "ceaseless industry, fearless investigation, unfettered thought, and unselfish service to others." The institution's history of dynamic change began in 1894 when "Mayo's College" moved to Commerce.
