A gift to our university is an investment in a world-class teaching and research community that embodies the creed of our founder, Professor William L. Mayo. “Ceaseless industry, fearless investigation, unfettered thought, and unselfish service to others" is the philosophy upon which he established the university in 1889. Although 115 years have passed, Texas A&M University-Commerce still provides exceptional educational opportunities to those who otherwise may not have been able to attend college.

Your generosity will pay repeated dividends in the successful lives and accomplishments of our students. Whether you choose to support a college, department, program, or make an unrestricted gift, your contribution will have an immeasurable impact on our students.

Sam Rayburn

Sam Rayburn, who graduated in 1903 from what was then East Texas Normal College, fondly remembered his alma mater as a place that gave even the poorest students a chance to succeed. Rayburn himself swept floors at the college to earn the education that later enabled him to serve as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives longer than anyone else. Among the buildings now named for him include a huge congressional building in Washington, D.C. and the Sam Rayburn Memorial Student Center at A&M-Commerce.
