All About THEA(formerly TASP)
What? THEA (Texas Higher Educational Assessment) exam and the Success Initiative is an instructional program which ensures that each student attending an institution of higher learning in the state of Texas as well as students entering teacher certification programs show proficiency in the areas of reading, mathematics and writing. Who? You will have to take the THEA exam if you are a full-time or part-time student enrolled at a community college or a four-year institution or if you are planning to enter a teacher preparation program in the state of Texas. Possible exemptions:
When? Students MUST take the THEA prior to enrolling. How? While on our campus, you can obtain a registration booklet from the distribution box located across from Academic Advising /Testing office. You may also contact NES at the following address, phone number or web site:
